BURTON CUMMINGS and his band return to the Credit Union Place in Summerside, PEI Saturday June 17, 2017 as part of BridgeFest 150 celebrations! The evening is sure to feel like a true East Coast Kitchen Party, with the likes of JIMMY RANKIN also on the bill!
The East Coast Production Group’s (ECPG) President, Joe Keenan said Burton Cummings is the “perfect artist” to headline this milestone event. “He’s an award winner for not only performance, but for record sales too. He is unrivaled in the music world and continues to prove that by performing night after night with the crowd held in the palm of his hand.” Keenan went on to say “This event celebrates the 150th birthday of Canada and the 20th anniversary of the Confederation Bridge and as such, it was of utmost importance to have a heavy-hitter like Jimmy Rankin be part of the party as well.
Few artists have achieved the level of public success and critical acclaim that Burton Cummings has enjoyed in a dazzling career spanning more than forty years. Whether as lead singer and songwriter with the Guess Who or on his own, Burton Cummings has amassed more hit records than just about any other Canadian performer in history. These Eyes, Laughing, No Time, American Woman, Share The Land, Hang On To Your Life, Albert Flasher, Sour Suite, Orly, Glamour Boy, Star Baby, Clap For The Wolfman, Dancin’ Fool, Stand Tall, I’m Scared, My Own Way To Rock, I Will Play a Rhapsody, Timeless Love, Break It To Them Gently, Dream Of A Child, Fine State of Affairs, Love Dreams and You Saved My Soul all bear Burton’s distinctive stamp. His voice has been rated among the finest in rock music.
A well-known solo artist, Jimmy Rankin also doubles as the front man of Canadian Celtic heroes, The Rankin Family. Between the two roles, the singer-songwriter has a slew of awards and nominations including 5 JUNO Awards, 27 East Coast Music Awards, and, having recently been named 2012’s Roots Artist of the Year for the second consecutive year, a total of 7 Canadian Country Music Awards, to name a few.
Experienced well beyond her years, Miss Makayla Lynn is more than ready to take the big-stage! This young teenager, has spent the past 8 years performing alongside many of country music’s biggest icons such as Keith Urban, Carrie Underwood, Eric Church, Kenny Chesney, Toby Keith, Brad Paisley, Tanya Tucker, Bill Anderson, Rascal Flatts, Tim McGraw, Kid Rock and countless others. “I’m excited to be opening for a Canadian Rock and Roll Icon!” Makayla said in a recent statement. “It will be a first for me.”
